PIs must remember that human subject, Institutional Biosafety, and animal approvals are granted for a year. The coninuous review ensures the safety of researchers, human and animal subjects as the research proceeds. This annual end date may not be the same as the financial budget period end. RSPP will send the PI a notice anticipating the annual renewal and expiration date. PIs must make sure they return the form so their approvals are renewed. If they lapse, the PI may have to stop work on the project until approval is renewed.

Progress Reports

Sponsors often require PIs to submit annual progress or technical reports. See Section 7.2 on nonfiscal reporting.
